Olvera Street (18.2 miles)
Known as “the birthplace of Los Angeles,” is a Mexican Marketplace that recreates a romantic “Old Los Angeles” with a block-long narrow, tree-shaded, brick-lined market with old structures, painted stalls, street vendors, cafes, restaurants, and gift shops. There are several historical museums to visit too. Olvera Street was created in 1930 “to preserve and present the customs and trades of early California." Many of the merchants on Olvera Street today are descended from the original vendors. They continue to create traditional events and celebrations free to the public!

Take a breath of fresh air and enjoy the park setting of Hermosa Natural Park (17.6 miles) and LA State Historic Park (18.8 miles).
Hermosa Natural Park is a 10.5-acre urban natural park that boldly returns the serenity and diversity of nature to the Los Angeles urban core. Hermosa Natural Park is a popular destination for residents. The park features walking trails, streams, meadows, picnic grounds, and a nature-themed playground. A FIFA-regulation soccer field is jointly used and an outdoor amphitheater provides an ideal setting for educational, and other public events.
Los Angeles State Historic Park (LASHP) is a 32-acre California State Park in the heart of Los Angeles that offers beautiful views of downtown and creative public events. LA State Historic Park is located in the known territory of the Tongva people. One large Tonvga village, Yang Na, sat within a mile of today’s park. The Tongva were renamed Garieleño after Mission San Gabriel was founded in 1771.
