Welcome to Marriott Puerto Vallarta's Sustainability Journey!
In 2023, our commitment to serving our community and preserving our environment shone brighter than ever. Through our dedicated associates, we contributed an impressive 4,504 volunteering hours, demonstrating our passion for making a positive impact.
Through our Serve 360 program, we proudly supported a range of charitable organizations, including Horizonte de Paz, Fundación Canica, Corazón de Niña, Asilo Padre Aldana, Pasitos de Luz, and Jardín de Niños Agustín Melgar. We also collaborated with Friends of Animals Puerto Vallarta A.C., El Estero El Salado, and CEMBAB, A.C., furthering our mission to uplift our local community.
Our commitment to protecting our coastline is unwavering. With meticulous beach clean-ups and contributions to the Blue Flag certification, we collected and responsibly disposed of 82.03 kg of PET, 1.044 kg of plastic caps, 42.19 kg of aluminum, 2.414 kg of cigarette ends, 66.36 kg of organic waste, and 144.28 kg of inorganic waste from July to December.
Furthermore, our partnership with the Food Bank has enabled us to donate surplus food through the Al Rescate Program, significantly reducing our food waste and ensuring that no good food goes to waste.

Paper Products
As part of our commitment to reducing waste, our property is strategically minimizing the purchase of all paper products and investing only in those made with recycled content and/or are FSC-Certified when needed.
Turtle Protection Program
In the 2023-2024 season, our turtle nursery safeguarded and protected an astounding 712 nests, equivalent to 70,734 eggs. By December, we joyously released 57,322 turtle hatchlings, achieving an impressive hatching success rate of 84.60%.
Blue Flag Certification
It is an international distinction awarded to sustainable tourism beaches that have achieved "excellence" and represents a commitment to beach users and the environment, certifying the following areas: environmental education and information, water quality, environmental management, safety, and services.
Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort & Spa received the Blue Flag certificate in July 2023, for the 2023 - 2024 season, which is issued by the Foundation for Environmental Education, based in Denmark.
