8th Annual Aging & Speech Communication Conference
Due to the extremely high prevalence of age-related hearing loss (ARHL), and the devastating effects it can have for the communication abilities and psychological well-being of our aged population, it is important to keep making significant progress on research and clinical interventions towards biomedical, technological and behavioral interventions to prevent and treat ARHL. As the exchange of scientific information becomes more digital, and often less personal (e-mail, messaging, skype…) it is critical to foster and support meaningful mechanisms that involve face-to-face communication, spontaneity of scientific and research interchange to foster new ideas and collaborations, and the abilities of trainees and junior researchers to spend quality time with more senior members of our field, from all over the world. This conference aims to achieve these critical goals for scientific and clinical progress.
