Start out by exploring the lake. You can head to the Presque Isle State Park for many hiking and cycling trails, a marina, multiple beaches for swimming, and other fun activities. Then, get back to Erie and explore the downtown area, from where you can watch stunning sunsets over the lake. Besides hanging out on the water, there are many other outdoors things to do in Erie. For example, meet local animals at Erie Zoo & Botanical Gardens or learn about the environment at the Tom Ridge Environmental Center. Visitors can also discover over 250 varieties of trees at the Lake Erie Arboretum or cool off from the summer heat at the Waldameer Park & Water World. Some cultural places to visit in Erie are the Erie Maritime Museum, the Erie Art Museum, and the Mercyhurst Institute for Arts & Culture.
In the evening, head downtown for top dining and entertainment. Later, catch a show at the Warner Theatre or play at the Presque Isle Downs and Casino.
