A popular ski destination, Ogden is located only 10 miles east of the Great Salt Lake. Many guests come here in the winter for snow sports at destinations like Nordic Valley, Snowbasin Resort, and Powder Mountain. That said, there are many places to visit in Ogden during the warmer seasons as well. Start out by exploring the historic 25th Street with late 19th century architecture, many art galleries, restaurants, and shops. Then, head to Ogden Botanical Gardens for a relaxed stroll or hike through Waterfall Canyon for a more active day. If the great outdoors is what you are after, Mount Ogden and Ogden river are also excellent recreational options. Families will love the Treehouse Children’s Museum for hands-on fun, as well as the Dinosaur Park with more than 100 life-sized dinosaurs. Visitors can let their nerdy side shine too at the Utah State Railroad Museum or the Hill Aerospace Museum located just nearby. In the evening, catch a classic movie or a new release at Peery’s Egyptian Theater, a historic movie palace. Dining is also one of the Ogden attractions, where you will find anything from steak to sushi, plus a wine bar or gastropub to unwind at after dinner.
