Home to merchants, royalty, artists and explorers, the hotel, like the city, is steeped in legend and character. The traditional build with stone, columned balconies is flanked by the Grand Canal with its luminous quality of shifting light, and a private pontoon to welcome guests. Behind lies the street of Calle XXII Marzo, full of elite boutiques, contemporary art galleries and the Gran Teatro La Fenice, the city’s temple of opera. With Piazza San Marco just four minutes’ walk from the hotel, Venice’s treasures are within easy discovery. Enjoy our hotel facilities after a long day of exploring Venice, we offer luxury spa treatments and a well equipped fitness center.
The St. Regis Venice enables guests to enjoy a surprising selection of urban discoveries, dedicated to the “vanguardist” character of Venice throughout its long history. Faithful to its motto "Cultivating the Vanguard", The St. Regis Venice offers to its guests the opportunity to discover Venice from a very new perspective. The city is often considered like an open-air museum, an ancient city wonderfully asleep in her Renaissance dream, but the identity of Venice goes far beyond that cliché.
Immerse yourself in the world of exquisite glass art with The St. Regis Venice and our special partner, Berengo Studio. As a unique collaboration, we invite you to indulge in private tours, curated exclusively for our guests, providing an intimate glimpse into the mesmerizing Berengo Studio gallery and furnaces. Elevate your stay and witness the magic of artistic craftsmanship.
Architecture in Venice is a breathtaking multiplicity of ornamental motifs, where a different decorative aesthetic seeps through every corner of every palazzo. This eclectic layering of styles dissipated in the city is what inspired the Venetian contemporary architect Carlo Scarpa, whose works were in turn a source of inspiration for The St. Regis Venice renovation.
Fascinated by Venice’s passage of light, in 1908, the illustrious impressionist painter Claude Monet took residence at The St. Regis Venice, at the time Grand Hotel Britannia, challenging the eternal beauty of the city. Start your day in a botanical breakfast at Gio’s in our Italianate private garden from where you can admire the same perspectives that inspired Monet and his masterpieces.
The Venice International Art, Architecture, Cinema, Dance, Theatre and Music Festivals play a prominent role in the city’s and the global cultural panoramas, bringing the best of international art trends and cultural events to Venice. The Venice Biennale has been for over 120 years one of the most prestigious cultural institutions in the world. The history dates back from 1895, when the first International Art Exhibition was organized. In the 1930s new festivals were born: Music, Cinema, and Theatre (the Venice Film Festival in 1932 was the first film festival in history). In 1980 the first International Architecture Exhibition took place, and in 1999 Dance made its debut at La Biennale.
The 60th International Art Exhibition will take place from Saturday 20 April to Sunday 24 November 2024 (pre-opening on April 17, 18 and 19), curated by Adriano Pedrosa. Adriano Pedrosa (Brazil) is currently the artistic director of the Museu de Arte de São Paulo Assis Chateaubriand – MASP, where he has curated many exhibitions, including Histories of Dance (2020) and Brazilian Histories (2022). He has recently been appointed the 2023 recipient of the Audrey Irmas Award for Curatorial Excellence, that was presented to him by the Center for Curatorial Studies at Bard College, New York.
