Water Sports at Spitzingsee

Enjoy the Spitzingsee from the water! Hire a SUP, pedal boat or rowing boat from the nearby boat hire and explore the lake from a different perspective. You also can go fishing at Spitzingsee. Pike, tench, bream, whitefish, eel and perch are the most common fish species. Our kitchen team will be happy to prepare the fish for you on request.

Swimming in the Spitzingsee

Our lake rarely reaches temperatures of more than 22° degrees in the summer months, offering the perfect way to cool down after a nice day high up in the mountains. Sun loungers and parasols await you on our own lakeside sunbathing lawn with bathing jetty. In your room you will find a spa bag with towels, bathrobes and slippers. You can buy drinks from the nearby SpitzingAlm or the AlpenSpa bistro.

Climbing at Spitzingsee

The Krettenburg offers a challenging climb just an hour away from the hotel. At the summit, you'll find a 250-meter-wide rock formation with excellent rock quality, sunny and shaded sections, and a nearby inn for refreshment. Another sports climbing area at Taubenstein also offers demanding routes on the west face, accessible via a 5-10 minute gondola ride from the Taubenstein cable car.

Experience this cool and fast-paced outdoor attraction of the Alpenbahnen Spitzingsee – downhill fun for the whole family! With these mountain carts – a kind of go-cart for the mountains – you descend from the Stümpflingbahn mountain station over a route of about 3.5 km. The low centre of gravity and the wide wheelbase of the carts ensure high driving stability. You control the speed yourself via disc brakes.

On Thursdays and Fridays from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM, weather permitting, the Stümpflingbahn operates under floodlights. The slopes are freshly groomed for the evening, and floodlights illuminate the descent perfectly. Warm drinks and snacks are available at the Jagahütt´n at the top of Stümpfling or at the base camp at the valley station.
